Diario al Día | Santiago, República Dominicana — La Policía Nacional mantiene activa la búsqueda de un hombre señalado en un incidente ocurrido el 27 de marzo de 2026 en el sector Jacagua, Santiago, que dejó a un mecánico con lesiones.
El afectado, Lusnel Laurent, relató que el conflicto se originó durante una boda cuando intentó mover su vehículo y otro individuo se negó a cederle el paso. Tras una discusión verbal, la situación pareció calmarse, pero minutos después se produjo un ataque físico.
Laurent explicó que fue agredido con una copa, lo que le causó heridas en el rostro, incluyendo inflamación y puntos de sutura en el pómulo. Según el reporte médico, las lesiones le generaron una incapacidad de 45 días.
El mecánico aseguró no conocer previamente al agresor y expresó dudas sobre las motivaciones detrás del ataque, señalando que podría tratarse de un intento de homicidio. También confirmó que ha presentado la denuncia formal ante la fiscalía.
La Policía Nacional emitió una orden de arresto contra Gregorio Gómez Veloz, alias "El Pinto", como presunto responsable del maltrato físico. La orden, identificada con el número 2026-AJ0027510, fue solicitada por presunta violación a los artículos 309 y 310 del Código Penal Dominicano, que sancionan el maltrato físico y establecen las penas según la gravedad de las lesiones.
La Dirección Central de Investigaciones (DICRIM) ha catalogado al imputado como una persona de alto riesgo y mantiene abierta la búsqueda. Las autoridades solicitan a cualquier persona con información sobre el paradero de Gómez Veloz comunicarse a los teléfonos (809) 682-2151, extensiones 2456, 2435, 2437 y 2441, garantizando absoluta confidencialidad.
Mientras tanto, Lusnel Laurent continúa su proceso de recuperación y espera que las autoridades logren localizar al implicado para que el caso avance en el sistema judicial.
