Diario al Día | Santo Domingo, República Dominicana – La familia de Nancy Sánchez Gálvez ha revelado nuevos detalles sobre los hechos que rodean su pérdida de vida en el parqueo del Hospital Traumatológico Dr. Darío Contreras.
El sargento mayor Tony Vallejo Méndez, detenido como presunto responsable, está bajo investigación por parte de las autoridades.
La madre de Nancy Sánchez denunció que Vallejo Méndez la perseguía y le impedía ejercer su profesión de licenciada en enfermería, carrera que la víctima había concluido con esfuerzo propio.
Según la madre, esta situación afectaba la vida y la estabilidad de Nancy, quien había logrado superarse y buscaba ejercer su carrera.
La mujer expresó su temor a que el caso quede impune debido a la condición militar del imputado y solicitó que se aplique la pena máxima.
"Quiero la pena máxima, porque a los militares los protege", afirmó, mostrando preocupación por la posible influencia institucional en el proceso judicial.
Por su parte, la hermana de Nancy Sánchez aportó un detalle clave en la cronología del caso.
Indicó que la víctima habría recibido una agresión física durante una discusión previa en el domicilio de la pareja, ubicado en las inmediaciones del nuevo peaje de Las Américas, en Santo Domingo.
Debido a esta agresión, Nancy se trasladó al Hospital Darío Contreras para recibir atención médica por un fuerte dolor de cabeza.
Este dato no había sido precisado en declaraciones anteriores y establece que la agresión inicial ocurrió en el hogar de la pareja.
La hermana reconoció que hasta ese momento la familia no había sido testigo directo de violencia física, ya que Nancy evitaba comunicar detalles para no preocuparlos.
"Ella no se comunicaba mucho conmigo porque no quería darles sufrimiento", explicó la madre, confirmando este patrón de silencio.
Tras la agresión, Vallejo Méndez llamó a una sobrina de Nancy para informarle que la víctima había tenido un accidente, sin mencionar su propia participación en el hecho.
Durante varias horas, los teléfonos de ambos permanecieron apagados mientras la familia buscaba información en distintos centros médicos sin éxito.
Nancy Sánchez tenía 34 años y cinco hijos, dos de ellos en común con Vallejo Méndez. Era conocida en su entorno como una mujer sociable que visitaba a su madre regularmente.
La madre manifestó que, aunque había considerado a Vallejo Méndez como un hijo, el daño causado es irreparable y reiteró su llamado a las autoridades para que se haga justicia.
Los testimonios indican que Nancy llevaba varios meses intentando separarse de Vallejo Méndez, pero enfrentaba constantes persecuciones que le impedían tener tranquilidad y autonomía. Esta situación habría afectado su vida personal y profesional.
